Heather McGeer

Research & Policy Analyst

Heather McGeer is a Research and Policy Analyst at the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). Prior to joining ICTC, Heather worked at the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA), supporting the communications and research teams; as an emerging researcher on the Explanatory Journalism Impact and Uptake Project (XJO), which explored the character and influence of academic explanatory journalism related to COVID-19; and at CivicAction, helping support thought leadership and initiatives for more inclusive cities. 

Heather holds a Master of Professional Communication from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Business from the University of Guelph. Heather is particularly interested in the ability for research and community engagement to bridge the gaps between information, knowledge and understanding and effect positive policy change and social initiatives. She enjoys bringing her interdisciplinary background to work on research focused on the future of work, environment and sustainability, EDI, and the digital economy.
