Akshay is the Manager of Economics at the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) and is currently based in Vancouver. He brings over 8 years of experience in economic research and analysis in academic, business, and policy settings. He is a research associate affiliated with the Systemic Risk Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and has previously worked as a researcher at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, and as an oilfield engineer at Schlumberger in Norway. He was also co-founder of one of India’s first robo-advisors.
Akshay holds a DPhil in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford, and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests include macroeconomics, capital and labour markets, and the economic, societal, and environmental impacts of technology.
